George Canyon Concert

I am so excited I have to blog about it. It is 11:30 on Sunday evening, and I am wired. Thank goodness my mom and dad have the girls, so I can sleep in. Unfortunately, John has to get up at 5:30 to go to work - so he is off to bed.

Tonight John and I went to the George Canyon Concert at the Pen-Hi Auditorium. We started off by going for dinner at Earls (Cajun Chicken Caesar for me and Chicken Hunan Chun Pow for John) We always get the same thing when we go there, cause we love it so much. After dinner we went to Wal-mart (no kids) to get the last few things we needed for Christmas.

Then off to the concert. It was a Christmas Concert. They did such a fantastic job, I can't even describe it. We were so close to the stage, and because it was such a small setting (up close and personal) it was the best concert we have ever been to (we have been to quite a few). The sound was awesome, they put on a great show. There was a storyteller, who told some really touchy Christmas stories. George sang some Christmas songs, and some from his cd's and also some new music. Dave Gunning came out to join George Canyon. They grew up together, and they have recorded some music together. He has such an amazing voice as well. I can't believe we haven't heard much about him. We bought his cd, and noticed that he wrote most of the songs on the cd. He is very talented.

After the concert, we bought the cd's and got Dave Gunning and George Canyon's autograph. We got to chat with them for a few minutes. It must be so weird for them, that people (like us) want their signature. It was just nice to chat with them. It seemed as though Dave Gunning was a little uncomfortable with signing his cd's. I would be too, cause it is kind of weird, if you think about. They are just normal people like you and I.

But anyways, it was a fantastic concert, and I would recommend anyone to go buy their cd's - George Canyon and Dave Gunning. We were very impressed.

Now we can start counting down to the Brad Paisley concert in Kamloops on January 19th. We'll be going with Heidi and Steve. I can't hardly wait.

Now it is almost 12:00, I am still wired.

Only 3 more sleeps

I am so excited about this Sunday night. I am counting down. Only 3 more sleeps until we see George Canyon.
YEAHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This summer we finally did a Family Photo. Usually they don't turn out, cause one of us isn't smiling. After seeing Vicki's family photo, I got the idea of putting a family picture in my profile. But 1 hour later, still not successfull. So this will have to do. We went for a hike on Giants Head Mountain this summer. Tessa in the backpack on John's back and Vayda hiked all the way up. (we parked just passed the gate) She did really well. She's got hiking legs. It only took one try, and out came a pretty good picture.

Newfoundland 911

"Hello, is this the RCMP?"
"Yes. How may I help you?"
"I'm calling to report my neighbour, Mike Fitzpatrick!
He's hiding drugs -- inside his firewood."
"Thank you very much for the call, sir."
The next day, the RCMP SWAT team officers descended on Mike's house.
They searched the shed where the firewood was kept.
Using axes, they busted open every piece of wood, but found no drugs.
They swore at Mike, he swore at them, and then they left.
The next day, the phone rang at Mike's house...
"Hey Mike! Did the RCMP come to your house?"
"Yeah!"
"Did they chop your firewood?" "Yep."
"Happy Birthday, buddy"
I thought this was pretty funny when John brought it home from work the other day.

Vayda's First Christmas Concert

Tonight, Vayda had her very first Christmas Concert at Giants Head School. First of all I can not believe that I have a child in Kindergarten. Second of all, that she is so stunning and beautiful, especially in that long black dress (the pictures aren't that great, I apoligize).

She has been so excited about this concert. She loves to perform, and being on stage makes her so happy. No fear, which is so cute. All the kids looked so good in their Christmas outfits. We have been practicing the three songs for the past few days. They did fantastic. We were all so proud. John's parents, my parents, and Kelly and the kids were able to come watch her, which she was very happy about.

Tessa on the other hand was a piece of work. She was fine for about 40 minutes, and then I had to leave with her. Good thing Vayda had already performed.

The night was a success, I guess that's why I am already blogging about it. Good Job Vayda!!!!

How times have changed

On Saturday morning we went to the Kids Peerless Christmas party. The girls were so excited to see Santa. (he usually makes a quick visit) There were about 30 kids there, they had so much fun playing hockey, and ball.

They took turns to sit on Santa's lap. Vayda ofcourse no problem. Tessa on the other hand wasn't too sure. She cried when we got close, even when Santa gave her a candy cane, she wasn't sure about him. She said "nandy, thank you" while crying.

When we opened up the envelope (with the nandy on the outside of it), each child received a Wal-mart shopping card. John told Vayda that she had received a credit card. (not knowing what a credit card really is) Vayda was so excited she told everyone, guess what? "Santa gave me a credit card". I don't think I ever said that when I was a little girl.

We had to go to Wal-mart right after the party (bad idea on a Saturday 2 weeks before x-mas) but I just couldn't say no. Vayda finally picked out a Barbie puzzle, Barbie book, and a Princess nighty. (30 minutes later) By the time we left, Tessa had about enough, she was screaming and kicking. I just had a fantastic afternoon of shopping. (lol)

Atleast I got to go scrapbooking that night. Six hours of scrapbooking away from my kids. We had a great night.

Chocolate Anyone

Tessa loves to lick the icing from the cupcake, but when it comes to eating the cake part, she says "all done". She is so cute and funny.

Terrible two's already???????

Tessa these days is just a delight. She can be so sweet one minute and than just throw herself on the ground and be so nasty the next. She is not even two yet. This morning all she wanted was candy. She was pointing to the cupboard saying "nandy", then I would say "no" and she would throw herself on the ground and cry.

Oh, it sure is a good thing she is so cute.

Although I don't want her to grow up, but I will be glad when this crying stage is done with. One of the many things I do love about this stage is the belly laugh. She has got the funniest laugh. It makes me so happy when I hear her laugh.

Christmas Tree Homework

On Friday afternoon Vayda came home from school with homework. As a family we had to decorate a Christmas tree with whatever we had in our house.

We all had so much fun decorating it. Tessa was pretty happy to help a little bit as well. Vayda was so proud of herself, we are very proud of her as well. She did such a great job on the tree. A little perfectionist. When we got to school this morning, it sure was nice to see all the different trees.

Christmas Party

Friday night, John and I went to his Christmas Party. This year they had it at the Penticton Golf and Country Club.

On Friday morning, I actually attempted to go shopping with two babies (Gabriella - 15 months and Tessa - 21 months) I know, what was I thinking.

It was not as bad as I thought. I stocked up on raisins, cheese strings, milk and baby yum yums. They did really good, better than expected. What can I say I really wanted to buy a new outfit. I also bought a pair of pointy boots, which Oprah said is what to buy. (lol) It only took about 45 minutes and we were on our way home with a whole new outfit. Yeah!

We arrived at our party at around 6:30, and really enjoyed the adult conversations. We go camping with a few of the people who work with John, so we have a great time catching up. We enjoyed dinner and dancing and we left around 12:30 (way later than expected)

The next morning we slept in until 11:00 am ( we haven't done that in years - I guess before kids we did) Vayda and Tessa had a sleepover at Opa and Oma's, they all had a really good time.

Vayda also had a busy day on Saturday. First she had a birthday party to go to. Her friend Lizzie from Penticton turned 5. Her party was at the Gymnastics club. They all had so much fun. We had to leave early cause she also was invited to go to the Tim Horton's kids Christmas party at the waterslides (John's mom works for the owners of Tim Horton's - housekeeper and cook) She was very tired when we got home. Another very busy weekend done. I can't believe how fast the time is going by.

Vayda's first Report Card

These pictures were taken last year in the fall by Karen through Playschool. I just love these pictures. She is so beautiful. We are so lucky to have such a special daughter.

I can't believe Vayda is already in Kindergarten. She is such a big girl. She has grown up so much, especially since she started school. Today we met with her teacher for our first interview. We also received her Report Card. She is doing really well, she loves to try new things, and she gets along with everyone. Vayda has such a big heart, she is so special.

She had to miss school today cause she had a fever yesterday, she was very sad not to see all of her friends, but she gets to go tomorrow. (every 2nd Friday) We bought her a Christmas dress yesterday, she looks so stunning black. She is so tall and beautiful.
